I would like to dedicate this research paper to several people who have supported and encouraged me throughout this lengthy research and writing process.
First and foremost, I want to dedicate this paper to my family. To my parents, thank you for your never-ending love and support. You have believed in me from day one and helped shape me into the person I am today. Your words of encouragement kept me motivated during the many late nights spent researching and writing. To my siblings, thank you for listening to me talk endlessly about my research topic and for your patience. I know researching on tropical rainforests is probably not the most exciting topic, but you always acted interested anyway. Your support has meant so much.
I also want to dedicate this paper to my wonderful boyfriend. Thank you for keeping me sane through the stressful periods and celebrating each milestone with me. I appreciate you bringing me food when I was too busy to eat and making me take much needed breaks when I was overwhelmed. You have been by my side through everything and I couldn’t have done this without your love and positivity. Thank you for always reminding me that I am capable even during times of self-doubt.
I would be remiss if I did not dedicate this paper to my mentor and advisor, Dr. Johnson. From the very beginning you believed in me and my topic choice. Thank you for your guidance, wisdom and for sharing your immense knowledge over the past year. You have taught me so much about conducting quality research, writing effectively, and navigating challenges along the way. I appreciate you for taking the time to meet with me weekly to review my progress and offering constructive feedback to strengthen my work. Your passion for the environment and conservation is inspiring. Thank you for supporting my academic and career goals – I would not be where I am today without your mentorship.
I also want to acknowledge my dear friends who supported me on this journey. To Sarah, Meghan, and Amanda – thank you for keeping me sane and being my cheerleaders. I appreciate you listening to me obsess over data analysis techniques or vent about encountering roadblocks. Our coffee and study dates not only kept me productive but also provided much needed humor and encouragement. You each motivate me to be a better student, researcher and friend each day. I am so lucky to have friends like you in my life who lift me up.
Lastly, I want to dedicate this paper to the beautiful and diverse rainforests around the world that inspired my topic of research. I am in awe of the complexity, richness, interconnectivity and importance of tropical rainforests globally. This research has only increased my passion for and appreciation of these extraordinary ecosystems. It is my hope that this paper in some small way contributes to furthering our understanding and conservation of rainforests for future generations. They truly are one of Earth’s greatest wonders.
In closing, I extend my deepest gratitude to all those mentioned here for their unwavering support over this past year. None of this would have been possible without each and every one of you by my side every step of the way. This research paper is dedicated with love, appreciation and respect to you all.
