Format for body paragraphs:
The body is the main part of the essay where you will discuss the key points in detail. SBI PO essay usually requires discussing 3 key points in 3 separate paragraphs.
Each body paragraph should follow the below format:
Topic sentence: The first line of each paragraph should clearly state the main idea or topic of that paragraph.
Explaining sentences: The next 2-3 lines should explain and expand upon the topic sentence with examples, facts, statistics, anecdotes etc.
Concluding sentence: The last line of each paragraph should draw a conclusion and briefly summarize the key discussion in that paragraph. It should also link it to the next paragraph topic.
For example, the first body paragraph on the above topic could be:
Access to education has greatly expanded due to technology. With the proliferation of online learning platforms, millions of students now have access to free or low-cost education resources online. Courses from top universities like Stanford, MIT are available online for anyone with an internet connection. Technology has especially helped non-traditional learners by offering flexible learning options. This increased access to quality education has democratized learning.
Format for conclusion:
The conclusion paragraph summarizes the key discussions and restates the core idea or thesis. It should not introduce any new information.
A 3-4 line conclusion for the above essay could be:
Technology has transformed the education sector by increasing access to learning resources, improving delivery of content and enabling better evaluation methods. While challenges remain, technology overall has augmented the education system and learning experiences of students.
General formatting guidelines:
Stick to the recommended word limit which is usually between 250-300 words.
The essay should have an intro, 3 body paragraphs and conclusion.
Use simple, clear language and avoid jargon words.
Maintain logical flow and connection between the paragraphs.
Support your discussion with relevant examples, facts, quotations if needed. But do not over-rely on outside content.
Use past tense and third person voice while writing (He/She/It instead of I/We).
Maintain formal tone without being too conversational.
Have a consistent structure for topic sentence and discussing points in each paragraph.
