The format of a library research paper is important as it helps organize the content of the paper and makes it easy for readers to navigate. There are standard elements that should be included in every research paper format such as the title page, introduction, body, conclusion and reference list. Following the proper format ensures coherence and demonstrates to readers that rigorous research went into writing the paper.

Title Page
The first page of a research paper is the title page. It should contain the title of the research paper centered at the top of the page. Below the title include your name and institutional affiliation which is usually the school or university where the work was conducted. The title page also contains the course name and number if the paper was written for a class. The title page is numbered as page 1 but the number does not appear on the actual title page.

Introduction
The introduction is where you grab the reader’s attention and provide context for your research. Begin with an engaging opening paragraph that introduces the topic and sparks the reader’s interest. Explain why the topic is significant and how it relates to the broader issues. Provide background information to establish the scope and context of the research. Present your research question or thesis statement which identifies the main argument or hypothesis you seek to prove. The introduction concludes with an overview of how the paper is organized.

Body
The body is where you present the evidence and analysis to support your thesis statement. Each paragraph in the body should be dedicated to discussing a single main idea that together build your overall argument. The first sentence of each paragraph introduces the topic to be covered. Supporting details and analysis follow with citations to credible secondary sources. When analyzing evidence maintain an objective and balanced perspective. Your own opinions should be clearly differentiated from information taken from research sources. Each body paragraph should have a coherent structure and transition smoothly into the next point.

Conclusion
The conclusion restates the main points and significance of the research in a new way. Briefly summarize the major evidence and analysis without simply repeating what was written in the body. Most importantly, reiterate how the evidence supported the thesis statement. Consider any wider implications, applications or need for further research. The conclusion leaves the reader with a complete understanding of the argument and its importance.

References
Cite all sources used in the paper according to the specified bibliographic style such as MLA, APA or Chicago style. Include complete publication information for each source so readers can easily locate them. Sources cited in the text must appear in the reference list, and vice versa to ensure consistency. Arrange reference entries alphabetically by author’s last name. For sources without authors list by title, ignoring initial articles like A, An or The.
