While many students utilize Google to research topics and find information to include in their essays, typing entire essays directly in Google can present some challenges. GoogleDocs is a fully-featured word processor that is often used by students for writing papers and completing assignments. Advantages:
Accessibility: One of the biggest advantages of using GoogleDocs is that it allows you to access your essay from any computer or mobile device with an internet connection. This makes it easy to work on assignments from different locations or continue working on a paper at home after starting it at school. The document is saved automatically to your Google Drive cloud storage, so you never have to worry about saving your work or having the latest version with you.
Collaboration: Multiple people can work on the same GoogleDoc simultaneously. This enables real-time collaboration with peers on group projects. Authors can see edits being made in real-time and have conversations via comments. Editors can also review an essay and leave feedback directly in the document for the author to incorporate.

For simple essays and assignments where advanced formatting and tools aren’t critical, GoogleDocs works well. But for major research projects, theses or documents with lots of images/data, a full-featured program offline may be a better choice to avoid distractions and ensure formatting consistency.
