To the bride and groom,
Congratulations on your wedding day! Today marks a new beginning for the both of you as husband and wife. While our time here is meant to celebrate your love and union, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the journey that brought you to this point.
[Groom], I remember when we first met in college and you couldn’t stop talking about a girl who caught your eye at a party the weekend before. You described her beauty, her laugh, her spirit—I knew right away that you were smitten. But would she ever notice you? Thankfully, your charm and persistence won her over. Even in those early days of getting to know each other, your connection was undeniable. You balanced each other in all the best ways.
[Bride], I still smile thinking of how [groom] dragged me along to one of your volleyball games so he could “accidentally” run into you again. I’ve never seen someone so intent on getting a second chance with someone. From that moment on, you two were inseparable. Your relationship grew steadily from that initial spark. Through late night phone calls, dates, bonding over family and friends, you nurtured the seeds of love until they blossomed into what we celebrate today.
It brings me such joy to see how you’ve supported each other through all of life’s ups and downs. From graduations and career milestones to loss and hard times, you’ve been each other’s rock. You lifted each other up without hesitation through it all. Most notably, when [bride] faced her health battle a few years ago, [groom] was by her side every step of the way with unwavering strength, patience, and care. Your selflessness and commitment in caring for one another has gotten you through challenges that can break many others apart. Your resilience has only deepened the roots of your love.
Beyond navigating major life events together, I’m also left in awe of the countless little everyday ways you show your affection and prioritize each other. From thoughtful morning texts to making coffee just how the other likes it, bringing home flowers “just because,” offering back rubs without being asked—the list goes on and on. Your devotion to one another’s happiness and well-being, no matter how large or small the gesture, makes your relationship truly inspiring. You’re living proof that it’s the collection of acts of service, no matter their size, that builds a foundation of lasting love.
Now here you are, ready to commit your lives fully to each other through the sacred vows of marriage. For those of us who’ve witnessed your relationship blossom over the years, this day doesn’t come as a surprise. From the start, it was clear you found more than just a partner—you found your soulmate. Your compatibility and affection for one another is palpable any time you’re together. Today is about making promises to honor and cherish that bond forever.

You’ve created a safe harbor where she can be her loving, nurturing best self.
