The conclusion heading wraps up the key discussion. In outlines, it typically contains one to three summarized main points rather than fully formed paragraphs. The first point restates the thesis statement, followed by brief reflections on the significance of the findings or importance of the topic. Any directions for further research can also be noted. Keeping the conclusion high-level at the outlining stage leaves space to incorporate fresh insights after developing the body while still signaling the end of discussion.
Beyond the three core sections, students can choose to include optional bibliographic components in outlines as placeholders. For example, citations and a preliminary works cited list help track sources as ideas are pulled together. Page numbers estimate layout. While footnotes and headings may not be fully fleshed out, including basic formatting elements sets Turabian papers up for streamlined writing.
